About the Organisation

Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC) is one of the leading and most successful Native Title Representative Bodies in Australia. It represents the Pilbara and Murchison Gascoyne regions of WA and has responsibilities under the Native Title Act to assist constituents with their native title claims.

The Corporation is run by an Aboriginal Board of Directors who are committed to protecting the Yamatji and Marlpa country by providing a range of professional services to their clients.

The Corporation's work includes:

Representing more than 24 different claim groups, all with their own culture, language and traditions, YMAC covers over 1 million square kilometres, with offices in Geraldton, South Hedland, Karratha, Tom Price and Perth.

About the Opportunity

Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC) is currently seeking a Business Support Officer to join their team in Geraldton, WA on a full-time, 12-month contract.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the key organisational initiatives.

Your duties may also include (but not be limited to):

  • Organising and booking travel and accommodation;
  • Setting up and preparing for meetings and events;
  • Attending various meetings and taking minutes as well as registration of committee members when required;
  • Managing databases and ensuring all data and information is accurate and up to date; and 
  • Ensuring all aspects of the service provided is administered and executed to a high standard.

To be successful you will be an extremely organised individual with a very high attention to detail and have extensive administration experience.

You will have a high level of interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

A current manual driver's licence and the ability to travel for work is essential.

About the Benefits

To reward your hard work and dedication, you will receive an attractive remuneration of up to $65,000 (commensurate with skills and experience) + super and salary sacrifice options circa $4k - $5k.
